I wish the Avs had taken him instead of the other Anderson two spots earlier but alas, they went for size.

Off to a great start with Minnesota-Duluth in his freshman year. 12 pts in 10 games and is by far the youngest forward on the team. Any shot at the WJC?

He has always been a good player, and played well against older kids.

He should probably make the team. Production like that in the NCHC is very impressive.

At the very least, he's virtually a lock to get an invite. If he doesn't even get invited, it has to be something political related.

Top team in the NCAA
25 games, 7 goals, 17 assists, 24 points, 63 shots

Top line for the gold winning USA team at the WJC

Doesn't turn 19 until mid june.

There is nothing about his game that screams star however there is no part of his game that is weak. I can see him being a top 6 winger who never quite gets the credit he deserves. often being labelled a product of his center.

Nick Schmaltz - 26 points in 38 games
Alex Tuch - 28 points in 37 games
JT Compher - 31 points in 35 games
Colin White - 43 points in 37 games
Jack Roslovic - 26 points in 36 games

These seem to be his true freshman comparisons

He's having a phenomenal first year. Kieffer Bellows, the other member of the line with Anderson and Keller, has 4 goals and 8 points so far. I think the Islanders took the wrong player.

Tyson Jost - 11 goals and 24 points in 22 games

Anderson - 7 goals and 24 points in 25 games

This guy should have been a first rounder.

As far as current player comparables, he reminded me a lot of Adam Henrique from what I saw of him in camp.

For anyone interested, here's some video of him from the U18's last year.

He was tied with Eeli Tolvanen for the lead in goals in that tournament with 7.

Agreed that he fell too low in the draft. Great pick by Shero IMO.

Luckily he won't have that problem in NJ?!
