With Ovechkin knocking out Svechnikov it got me thinking how rare Russian vs Russian fights seem to be in the NHL.

Anyone have a list or can remember some historic fights Comrade v Comrade ?

I guess like 20 years ago now, and he's not even Russian, but Darius Kasparaitis fought Alexander Selivanov once upon a time...I only kind of recall it because that's the day I learned Selivanov was married to Phil Esposito's daughter...this fight just kind of came along for the ride from a memory point of view haha

Combination of so few in the league per year and how so few fight there's no real surprise they're rare.

Malkin and Ovechkin kind of got into it.
