Russian U20 team has come to Canada to play 4 frendlies: 2 games vs Canada , 1 vs Sweden and 1 vs Czech.

Russian team's roster:

G: Timur Bilyalov, Ilya Sorokin
D: Viktor Baldaev, Rinat Valiev, Kirill Vorobyov, Vladislav Gavrikov, Rushan Rafikov, Nikita Cherepanov, Nikolai Glukhov, Ziyat Paigin, Ivan Provorov, Dmitriy Yudin.
F: Ivan Barbashev, Vladimir Tkachev, Pavel Buchnevich, Daniil Vovchenko, Anatoliy Golyshev, Valentin Zykov, Vyacheslav Leschenko, Maksim Mamin, Aleksandr Sharov, Artyom Penkovskiy, Igor Rudenkov, Sergey Tolchinskiy, Radel Fazleev, Aleksey Yakovlev.

I don't get it. Did Sweden go to Canada only to play one single game? Seems to be waste of time. Or did bI missed something?

Actually they have been training in Montreal for a few days already. Lake Placid -> Montreal isn't a very long drive, ~180 km.

dont recognize many names for russias defense, at all.. but i guess that how it always seems to go, never their strong point but always makes it work somehow

Good to see Ilya Sorokin there, hoping he will be the starting goalie for Russia's U20 team at the WJC.

Russia will have to do without Zadorov, Scherbak, Goldobin.
Zadorov expected to be an NHLer, wasn't invited.
Scherbak has some sort of reoccurring Visa problem, Goldobin missed early camp because of NHL development camp. Both will get a look during Subway Super Series for WJC.
