Russia/Ukraine effect on hockey

Not at all sure where to put this, so I posted it solo. This mess with Putin/Russia and the west is just getting started. There is reasonable evidence to suggest that Russia will swallow Ukraine and has already started on the Baltic states.

The potential for major trouble is there and the likelihood of a major split between a new, aggressive Russian Federation and the west is pretty obvious.

If we don't all get blown up over this deal, it may effect the availability of Russian hockey players to the NHL. As the Caps have 3.....

Seriously?

It's not a big deal. Russia will halt the fascists just like the first time around and life will go on as usual. I doubt the neocons will be able to milk into anything with real consequences on hockey.

In such a scenario, the future of three Russian hockey players with the Capitals would be the least of my concerns.

Well at least we can always resign Grabo. He can replace Ovi's scoring depth like Chimera did for Semin.
