who's confused really ?

You because you're thinking the one who certified agent are lockout or me because being lockout & certification DOES HAVE ANY INFLUENCE with one another ?

keep the blinders gary

It's painfully obvious which one of us is confused. You have repeatedly suggested that we are attacking certification, when no one has done so. Suggesting that agents be certified by a different group is not suggesting that agents not be certified. Have you grasped this simple fact yet?

You have still not provided a single reason why the NHLPA has to be the certifying body.

You have still not provided a single reason why the players are better off with the PA having the right to decertify their agent.

We're waiting.

They're the Unsung Heroes of Professional Hockey. They do as much (if not more) in nuturing young men to become the players we all enjoy today than any scout or coach.

They're often the only advocate a player has against an industry designed to exploit them.

No, nothing more please!

I'll get fired!

A post providing absolutely no new information. We all know what the structure was under the previous CBA. We are attempting to debate the merits of that system.
It in place to avoid collusion ..

If the Agent was not certified by the NHLPA and working in conjunction with it to get its players contracts then you would have a big mess ..

The Agent and the Player could get together and work out a deal with the NHL particularly in Work Stoppage times to act as UNION BUSTING ..going against the very union that they are apart of ..

It could be no other way .. The NHLPA sets its policies and the agents are just another arm of the PA ..acting in accordance with it.

I am not sure why you want that changed unless for the exact purpose its for to not allow an end around the union.

There is no advantages just disadvantages that could effect labour laws and even the NHL agrees to the system as it appears in the CBA as I pointed out ..

What planet are you living ?

Certification is a part of almost every job in the world. You want to be plumber, go get your cards (A.K.A. Certification), an electrician ? go get your cards. A lawyer ? go get your licence !

So law firms certify lawyers? And plumbing businesses certify the plumbers?
Of course not. That would be stupid, and a conflict of interest.

Which is exactly why it's wrong that the PA is the one who certifies the agents. In effect, the employers are certifying the employees.

Certification is good, but only when it's done by a neutral third party.
