Hello y'all! Big respect because of Lou and his (Ithink) the hardest roster in the NHL again  and for y'all fans.

My curious question is and couldn't find out the answer: Whom does y'all got in your first pp unit playing opening night?

He’s being serious. Trotz said he will role with the hot hands on the PP.
Oh, so y'all don't have any prediction on what your first unit pp is going to be? Not even blueliners? Pretty surprising cause y'all know ice hockey

What do you mean by “ The hardest roster in the NHL”?

Not as hard as your leafs though.
Yeah mayne. They talented though, but if the Lou comes against us..... mayne, we would get some ass whooping got. Treal hard. Dubas built his team wrong, Lou always doos right. Leafs (legendary) should always have a tucker, domi roberts type in there. Not now. Islanders are rightfully build period. Lou finna kick some real rear end soon again. This thang is bout to start again and I wish y'all the biggest best. Don't even have to wish, its about to happen.

Good to see that they actually sent down Hickey and put out the best defensemen with the Isles instead of just looking at 1 way deals, like in the past. But the Hickey deal looks even worse now. A decent bottom pairing dman, for another 3 years in Bridgeport because no one will take on that deal? And in a year he will be joined by Uncle Leo as well. That Bridgeport roster is getting expensive!

I think they'll try to accomodate him by trading him but (bad) contracts will have to come back. Won't be easy that.

Did you mean that the Isles are hard working? I agree 100%.

Oh yeah, the PP. It should be noted that LL brought in the PP coordinator that was in TO last year. Hiller. No one seems to be privy to his modus operandi, but he's had good success, and our PP was out weak spot last year.

Trotz seems to like competition and balance, and I would not be surprised if he creates 2 balanced units, and haves them compete against each other, all year long.

My guess? Lee-Barzal-Eberle together, as they found some good success when they were tried, mid season. Add a shooter on D in Pulock and a entry specialist in Leddy.

The other may look like Beau/Brassard-Nelson-Bailey with Toews and Boychuk (still shoots it hard).

Trotz isn't afraid to mix it up, and will give time to those with the hot hand. After a year of 'seeing' what we have, I think Trotz and LL will start to be more firm on who they are going to lean on.

Any information about what they will do with Simon Holmstrom? HV71 or Bridgeport!?

Very possible they've been waiting to see what would happen with waivers before deciding on him.

I for one see absolutely NO space for him in BPort.

I do however see a world of opportunity for him with HV71.

If nothing else, they'll buy him out before he sticks in BPort for the remainder of his contract.

But like most here speculate, he's here for depth now and until the organization makes a decision on Dobson.

I believe he (and Fritz & Ho-Sang) will have to go through waivers again to even be called up, so that could have implications for a team that might be hurting at a time where he'd be called up.

I don't think they want to trade him until other aspects to the blueline clarify themselves.

I said the same thing and someone said there’s no more re-entry waivers. I’m not sure the validity of that but I haven’t found out for sure. I’d really like to know.

They eliminated re-entry waivers at the NHLPA's behest in the CBA negotiations. Players felt it was limiting veteran players' chances for promotions (which it certainly did.)

Makes sense. I don’t recall in recent memory anyone needing it on call ups so makes perfect sense. Thank you.

Re-entry waivers have been gone for a while, so they only need the sufficient cap space to bring them back up (not a problem). I do see that on Capfriendly, Hickey's salary is listed a $1.450.000 buried. Does that mean that the entire 2.5 million is not coming off the cap when he went down? Is there a thing in the CBA that you cannot bury a full contract worth more than X-amount of dollars?

Another CBA change. You can bury the league minimum salary plus $375,000 on a player who makes over that amount. So Hickey is $2.5 mil - $700k - $375k=$1.45m cap hit.

I believe we get $1MM of relief while he's down, would realize the full cap hit if he's called up.

I repeat...I do not like that 3rd line. Our third line has sucked for the past 10 years. maybe more.

Although, I do see what Trotz is doing with Johnston. He's molding him into another Tom Wilson. It won't be long before it's

Johnston - Barzal - Eberle
Lee - Nelson - Bailey

Johnston is no where close to Wilson. As much of a douche that Wilson is, the guy was a first rounder with far more ability than Johnston.
