Running a short handed roster when 11-7 is really the only thing that’s led to consistent success on this club to buy more time and excuse a loss or two in the meantime is rubbish.

Get rid of JP already, jfc
JP is the easiest player to move to offset salary this season though.

If a trade for EK was happening they would have scratched him. Oh welp

Director of Pro Scouting brother Brad Holland on Oilers Now today:

- Acknowledged that theyre in a winning window for the next 3 years
- Mirrored Ken's stance on subtle moves are king
- Stauffer asked about Karlsson and while not addressing EK specifically, said big moves like that are offseason moves and you don't know how much they may disrupt team chemistry mid-season

Yes wouldnt want to interrupt that incredible Nurse-Ceci chemistry.

Not surprising what he said. Besides, what the heck are you guys hoping he will say, we are close on getting Karlsson?

If they were going to send some players down, they would've done that already. Doesn't make sense not doing it already if they know Yamamoto is playing already.

Maybe it’s something around Pulju and Barbashev.
I liked Barbashev until I had him in a stat heavy fant league and spent 3 months studying everything about him. Barbashev got off to a great start when the Blues had multiple injuries in their top 6. Since they started getting healthy and he has been moved back down into the bottom 6--while his overall numbers for the year look good--but when you do the 15/30/45 day look at his numbers you see a sever dip over the last 45 days

His first and third points are kind of contradicting. If you're in a winning window, then you should be willing to make big moves for a playoff run.

You can't keep Desharnais out of the lineup for much longer either though if the Oilers think that is some how the solution.

He's better defensively than Ceci, Broberg, Barrie, Kulak, Bouchard, and even at times Nurse, even though he has no business being better than them, it just is what it is.

Like if the plan is to scratch Desharnais and Holloway until the trade deadline or close to ride out thie Puljujarvi/Yamamoto crap as long as possible ... put down the crack pipe, Ken.
