Beck -- Automatic. No real point having an opinion here. He's such an industry darling he's in without there needing to be a vote.
Pat Benatar -- No. Come on.
Kate Bush -- No. Probably belongs in the Brit music hall of fame, but she clearly didn't cross over to the U.S. given her paltry success here.
DEVO -- No. They're a lot like Beck in that the industry loves them, but unlike Beck, they never really sold many records.
Duran Duran -- Yes. About as big of a band there was in the 80s.
Eminem -- Yes. Would make it pretty funny when he gets in to make 20% of the rap acts in the Hall of Fame being white.
Eurythmics -- Yes. Cool new sound. Had a decent run of hits and are considered influential. I like them.
Judas Priest -- No. We need more metal in the Hall, but they aren't quite there. Put Slayer in.
Fela Kuti -- No. Never heard of him. Pulled up his biggest hits, and have never heard a one of them. Can't be in a Hall of Fame if your biggest hit doesn't even have 3 million views on Youtube.
MC5 -- No. Here we are with the Boomers on the committee still trying to clog the Hall up with every band to ever put out a record in the 60s.
New York Dolls -- No. I get they may have been a huge influence and all, but if your album sales are best described in terms of number of dozens, you're not in.
Dolly Parton -- No. I love Dolly. She's a national treasure. But she isn't rock and roll or even pop. That said, invite her to the induction ceremony. She's awesome.
Rage Against The Machine -- Yes. They'd also be the highlight of the induction. They didn't have the longest run, but what they did was awesome and still resonates. The kids still love them.
Lionel Richie -- No. He can go apply at the boring music hall of fame.
Carly Simon -- No. Had one or two hits almost 50 years ago. Meh.
A Tribe Called Quest -- Yes. Time to start getting more rap acts in, and they were huge on the influence and legacy side of things.
Dionne Warwick -- No. This ain't the telephone psychic hall of fame.
