Almost burned to death at Nürburgring in 1976 and missed only two races because of it, returning just over a month after his incident. One of the best, if not the best comeback in the history of sports.

And lost the title only by a point. Easily the best driver of his era and top 5 all time. As a man more controversial and never a personal favorite.

One of the all time great drivers, competitors and personalities. It's incredible that he survived for so long but at the same time went out so soon, really sad that we're never going to see him in the paddock again.

His comeback from the horrific accident is still the most insane things I've seen or heard of in any sport. Nothing but respect for Niki.
