So devastating. Woj just tweeted it out, and in this case, he is sadly one of the most reliable sources on the internet. The one time I'm hoping for fake news it turn out to be real :(

RIP Mamba

He was a big media guy in his last days, he had his own show on ESPN+ and he was always weighing in on topics. He said a few days ago that some WNBA players may be able to make it in the NBA without question.

I first saw this as a post from a facebook meme group and thought they were just doing a bad meme.

Turns out they were paying respects.

RIP.

Sadly not ;(

The hope right now is that his wife and kids were not also on the plane. I don't know what to believe at this point...
One of his children was on the chopper with Kobe. He also had another family on. They were going to a basketball game.

RIP.

This is a huge loss on a life cut too short, he was the player of his generation and so much more in the sports world and was still active post playing career and accomplishing more. Of course he did more in his life than the vast majority of human beings in the world do, but still a life cut too short. He will be incredibly missed.

Shocked beyond words. I had the privilege of watching him play twice and he was just a great competitor and, of course, spectacularly talented.

My dad would take me to Lakers games before hockey had ever even come onto my radar. Kobe was my first athlete hero. He was as close to a real life superhero as you can get the way people looked up to him in LA.
