I do not if this has been posted but we lost another one of our Flyers family. The Count has passed at 63, far to young

The Philadelphia Flyers organization mourns the loss of former defenseman, Bob Dailey, who passed away today at the age of 63.

“Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Flyers lost another great player today with the passing of former defenseman Bob Dailey after a long battle with cancer,” said Flyers President Paul Holmgren. “Bob was an integral part of the 1979-80 Flyers team that had a 35-game unbeaten streak and played in the Stanley Cup Final that year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Dailey spent parts of six seasons with the Flyers from 1976-77 to 1981-82 where he recorded 56 goals and 138 assists for 194 points in 304 regular season games. His 56 goals rank fifth all-time in franchise history among defensemen, while his 194 points rank seventh all-time among Flyers defensemen.

This has become an excruciatingly painful year. Another warrior from our youth has passed.

From a more detailed account of his legacy, I suggest the following terrific read:

Dailey, who played and made an imprint with the Flyers from 1976-82, suffered from cancer.

"He had been battling for six years," Bob Kelly, a former Flyer and teammate of Dailey, said in an interview with CSNPhilly.com. "He really fought the hard battle.

"No person should have to endure what he did and I don’t think anybody could endure as long as he did in holding up his spirits."

RIP, Count... Your time with the Flyers was much too short due to injury... your time with us altogether was much too short... and your Legacy much too overlooked by many who didn't have the pleasure of watching you play in O&B... Say hello to Mr. Snider, Hawk, etal for us when you meet up for those Celestial Pond Hockey games.
