So sorry to hear that he passed. Was he the last bridge to the team’s origins in 1970? Condolences to his family.

A memory that lives in not only my memory but all my non-Sabres friends was watching the playoffs in 06 and not liking the TV feed in Canada so we muted the TV and turned on the Sabres radio play by play. We realised there was about a 5 second delay between the two but decided to keep listening this way.

All of us suddenly here "Gwwwwhat a hit by Campbell!" And all of us stand in excitement to see something transpire on the TV and finally the hit happens after those 5 seconds, and that anticipation made it so much more incredible. I know RJ had way many better calls, but that one with his excitement and then just waiting to see what happened was a perfect for my friends and I.
