Thoughts? I was glad to see him get the nod, he often gets overlooked and underrated. He was one heck of a fighter, really tough, exciting and a freak athlete. A great role model who never talked trash, was always a class act. Had wins over Yushin Okami, Matt Hamill, Wanderlei Silva twice, Evan Tanner twice, brutal knock outs over Chuck Liddel, Nate Quary and Ken Shamrock. Defended the middleweight belt twice and might have had an even longer reign if he wasn’t in the same weight class as Anderson Silva.

Well deserved.

A bit underrated at the time because after he lost his to Silva the UFC would often throw him into main events when they couldn't find anyone else. It led to good fights but kind of low-end PPV main events.

One of the best. Loved Rich Franklin and this is well deserved. Such a respectful and pretty well spoken fighter, too, unlike a lot of today's crop.

That's great news! Guy was a warrior and always brought it every fight. A great example of the kind of fighter that a fan can really pull for. Him sleeping Chuck Lidell is one of my favorite MMA moments of all time...
