Several NHLers were raising money for charity at a casino type fundraiser. RDS interviewed Ribeiro, here is what he said:

"Il vont ce décider. Ce qu` ils décident, je m`en fou un peu. Cap ou pas de cap, ce que je veux c`est de jouer au hockey".

which basicaly means:

"They are going to agree on something. What they agree on, I don`t realy care. Cap or no cap, what I want is to play hockey".

This gives you a decent idea of what (at least) some players are thinking about the work stoppage. And this is one of the "young players" that this fight was suppose to be all about forthe PA.

No. It gives me the idea that ONE player that has yet to earn his millions and was in the process of getting to that point is frustrated because he is slowly losing out on that opportunity.

And I would add...

while many prospects on the Habs had a complete season in the AHL that can potentially replace him if he's off his game next year...(Higgins, PLekanec)

Yea but he has a step over those prosppects. I don't think that's what he's worried about. I think he just wants to play. He may be cocky and an ******* but he still has the love for the game.

Yeah guys go ahead and make fun of someone you couldn't even become in your dreams. Yeah Ribeiro faked one single injury and all of a sudden the whole world is against him. Stupid ignorant fans though nothing really surprising.

pfft like i'd wanna be a punk like that in my dreams. in my dreams i would be iginla or some other player that i could actually find a modicum of respect for. he is a cheap diver who, in the playoffs, embodied everything hockey should not be.

WOW! GET OVER IT!

This happened 1 year ago and people still hang onto this...he's not the first player in NHL history to take a dive you know (I don't think it was a dive, but that's another argument) and he won't be the last...

I just don't get it, other players dive, yet they get nuff' respect around here (Alexander Semin for example) but why the hatred vs. Ribeiro...

Don't hate the player, hate the game!

True, most of us could never in our wildest dreams have what Mike Ribiero has. I mean, really, on my salary I could never afford an expensive Gucci purse to take out on the ice for my shift...

See, niether could mike at one point. Thats why he had to go out and earn those speedo endorsements. Now he has a whole collection of gucci, and not to mention the manicures.

Ribeiro must be finding it tough as a starving actor.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Either discuss what the thread is about or start a new one on the "I think I'm funny" board using lame attempts at sophmoric humour to bash one of the most talented young players in the NHL for a questionable incident that happened MORE THAN A YEAR AGO.

I somehow think the point failed to get across that a player has said that he could care less what's in the CBA, he just wants to get back to playing.

I, for one am ashamed for the comment I made. I realize now that there is no excuse for trying to be funny in this dark, miserable world. If I get a chance to make it up to Mr. Ribiero, I know that I will do my best.
