Hm. I dont know too much about our "depth" prospects, so I start building my dreams for easier ones. When we can officially sign these guys?

Ryan O'Reilly hopefully gets locked up very long term, 6M per year deal. Hoping we could get the deal closer top 5.5M, but I screamed so many times this season PAY THE MAN! that main thing is just to lock him up almost no matter the cost.

Jamie McGinn part of the team too, and he can play any line in top9. Around 2.5M per year and 2-3 years sounds reasonable.

I had my hopes high on Hishon and I totally loved what I saw from him in his playoff games. Get him a new contract, give him a full season in AHL (call up if needed) and we'll see if he can get a full time roster spot for 15-16 season. Hoping that for next season seems a lil far fetchd as there aint space for him.

Tyson Barries new contract has been discussed earlier too, and I saw someone suggesting 4years, 3.5 per deal. Sounds very reasonable, and that might end up being a steal for us. Propably will get a 2-3 years 2.5-3M deal tho.

Elliott should be either traded or resigned as one of three players competing for bottom pairing spot in NHL.

One question, if the expiration on the draft picks is June 1 will we know by then if those guys will get contracts or not? I recall the Avs announcing a bunch of contracts on like July 5th last year. Just wondering if we should anticipate the same sort of thing?

I believe we are set to draft at spot number 26-28. We were bounced in the first round, but both Ana and Bos are still in. So, hypothetically, if they get eliminated before the SCF, it goes:

30- SC winner
29- SC loser
28- BOS
27- Ana
26- COL

I think that's how it works. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Don't forget New Jersey. It's SC winner, loser, WC and EC loser then division winners. So we are looking at 23-25th. Better pick if Boston or Anaheim don't make the WC/EC finals.

I think this is how it works. Though, remember NJ has the 30 pick. Beyond that, it just depends if BOS or ANA go to the SC Finals. I think we will be the 25-27 pick.

I really don't know why there is confusion on this... it is 23-25 depending on what Boston and Anaheim do. Look at last year's draft order and it is pretty easy to figure out.

- Ryan O'Reilly [5 million - QO 6.5 million] -signed long-term 5-8 years at $5.9m
- Jamie McGinn [1.75 million] - either resigned to a 3-4 year deal worth $3m per or traded
- Joey Hishon [900,000K] - he showed enough to get another deal, 1 or 2 year 2 way deal
- Paul Carey [675,000K] - probably re-signed, but wouldn't be shocked to see him not be qualified though
- Mark Olver [600,000K] - not qualified

DEFENSE
- Tyson Barrie [715,000K] - re-signed to a bridge deal in the 2 year $3m per range
- Stefan Elliott [843,333K] - re-signed to a 1-2 year deal
- Karl Stollery [550,000K] - re-signed to a 1 year deal

GOALERS
- Kent Paterson [627,500] - he seems to have earned an AHL spot, but that won't likely happen here, rights traded would be my guess
- Kieran Millan [626,500] - not qualified

Uh, no. The lowest the Avs will pick is 25th. New Jersey picks 30th no matter what, then the final 4 teams in the conference finals pick 26-29.

Barrie - either bridge deal of 2 year $7m total ($6m should be the target) or 6 year $24m... so big incentive for bridge deal, limit risk on long term deal
McGinn - no more than 4 years $12m

I want McGinn around for a while. Roy says he wants to get bigger, trading away one of his more physical top 9 guys doesn't do that. I say try to get McGinn on a 4 year deal in the $12-13M range. He's the perfect glue guy up front.

Barrie is harder to tell as he still hasn't played a full NHL season. I think Roy and company will go for a bridge deal, something around 2 years at 6M.

Why?

- He wasn't skilled enough to make up for his lack of size. No room for him as he was not an NHL calibre player.

Olver's like Sgarbossa. They had some good moments early, and then never followed it up.
