Having played through two bad shoulders and a bad hip how do we not know he can’t be better after having those repaired?

He was never fast, and his speed has been noticeably diminishing for five years. It doesn’t suddenly show significant improvement at age 35+. Mother Nature.

Hoping this works for him, but it's a long road back from 3 separate major surgeries.

Trying to come back is a far cry from being played. Don't think he'll be in the lineup.
Exactly.

Seabs can try his hardest, but when he arrives at training camp severely overweight and dead tired after one lap around the rink, he's not going to make a strong case for himself.

Hard to believe he would put himself thru this, and not come in in better shape. If he fails ok, he deserves a shot.

Right. Seabs' life, to a large extent, is hockey. He's been very successful and is a proud guy. I'm sure he's acutely aware of what he's up against. Only classless people will begrudge him opportunities to come back (this season/next season).

That said, I'll believe he's in our top 6/7 when Colliton puts him there. The NHL is no country for guys who don't have it anymore.

/\ Yep. I can't think of another NHL veteran who was so disrespected by a fan base.
Seabs doesn't deserve respect.

Should have had the discipline to stop eating so much KFC and throwing his career down the drain. Brandon Manning and Brendan Perlini are the only players more pathetic than Seabs to don a Hawks sweater in recent years. That's just sad.

If Seabs wants respect, he needs to pick up his fat ass off the couch and clean the cheeto dust and chip crumbs from his mangy neckbeard.

Seabrook doesn’t deserve respect? f*** right off.

He absolutely deserves some respect for what he’s poured into this organization.

I'm not a fan of what he has turned into, but this is still an incredibly shitty take and you should feel bad that you wrote it.

:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Shameful. You need to differentiate between the man and his contract.

For past accomplishments, of course.

But a man who can't stay in shape for 7M a year deserves zero respect.

So he should have turned that contract down or pay some of it back?

If Stan made you that offer would you have turned it down?
