This is obviously a very good matchup, and a great team, with Lemieux. However, I think our team, loaded with two way players and an elite defenseman, will be best suited to shutting down Lemieux, or at least limiting his scoring.

Sorry for the lack of discussion, been a busy week for me. I hope to get into some more detail later, but for now here are my quick thoughts on the series...

- Chicago has the edge up front, but KC has the better blueline.

- Chicago has a clear edge in coaching...Hart is an above average coach, and Johnson is a below-average to low-end coach. I also think Hart is a better fit for his team. Both coaches are best equipped to play a highly offensive style, and Chicago is loaded with offense, while KC is lacking up front.

- A clear goaltending edge for Chicago, which should help make up for KC's advantage on the blueline. Gardiner is an above average goaltender, while Holecek is below average.

- You can't miss Chicago's big top line, who will be a handful for any team, but don't forget about the 2nd line led by Busher Jackson (who would be a slightly above average LW on a 1st line). KC does not have a RW to give Jackson the special attention he will require.

- KC has a good deal of toughness in Potvin, Schmidt, Gilles, Mantha, and Trottier but Chicago does not have many "soft" players and brings plenty of toughness of it's own with Conacher and Jackson as strong power forwards on the scoring lines, Sutter and Tkaczuk as tough/miserable to play against types on the 3rd line, and Goodfellow and Korab on the blueline.

- Leadership is an edge to KC with 3 all-time greats in Potvin, Schmidt, and Kennedy (probably the best leadership in the entire league this year), but Chicago does have leadership up and down the lineup with 9 players who served as their teams' Captains at some point (although a few of those were only for one or two years).
