Apologies for not responding sooner - my wife just had a baby (our second) so, things are crazy-hectic.

That said, I'm hoping to get in some comments here and there…

Either way, congrats to Bluesfan and Nalyd on building a solid team. This should, on paper, be a great matchup.

COACHING:

In my opinion, this one is a no-brainer, and a definitive edge for Kenora. Toe Blake is easily one of the best coaches of all-time (some argue THE best) and, a great fit for the current Thistles roster (or any roster for that matter). That said, I really like Bob Johnson as a coach for the Scouts. Personally, I think he fits the team well.

Advantage: Kenora

LEADERSHIP:

This one seems like a wash. The Scouts have tremendous leadership, from multiple cup-winning captain Potvin, to multiple cup-winning assistant Kennedy. Schmidt is obviously an excellent assistant as well. Leadership is also strong beyond players wearing letters, with great leadership coming from former captains Gillies and Peca…

As for the Thistles, all players wearing letters (with the exception of Iginla) have won cups as captains.

Advantage: Equal

GOALTENDING:

I actually think this ones pretty close. I see Holocek as a slightly better starter but, does not see the gap as being that large, despite both being lower-level ATD starters. That said, I think Hern definitely has an advantage over Giguere as a back-up. Since it's the playoffs, Giguere's value is slightly better then his regular season value but, is certainly not enough to close the gap between him and the multiple-cup winner Hern.

Advantage: Kansas City
