Reminder RE: RFA versus UFA age

Hey guys,

As you begin to send in your offers to your pending free agents, just a reminder about who is an RFA and who is a UFA. We've had a few offers recently that were incorrect, so just want to clarify this.

The website is not always correct because it updates in real time. As an example, Michael Chaput is listed as a pending RFA in the final regular season file, but a UFA in the current playoff file. That's because he turned 27 between that transition.

So here are the dates that you need to know:

Players born from January 1 - June 30 1992 are pending UFA's.
Players born on or after July 1st 1992 are pending RFA's.

Bottom line, if they turn 27 before July 1st, they are UFA's.

has anything changed in how we are signing our RFA players?? I have seen some changes for UFA players, especially those acquired through trade, but for our own RFA does the same amount of years and contract value apply as it did before? thanks
