Uggh, for STL/NSH, I thought of Atcheynum, Goc, Nichol, and suspected Hunt would work, but wasn't totally sure... but Orszagh seems like such a lesser-known guy, no idea why he's always at 1-2% :whaaa?:

For SJS/NSH, I knew Goc and Nichol would work, but I suspected both would be 1%ers, and I was right... I thought of Matt Tennyson, but I wasn't sure he played for NSH.. unfortunate :pout:

This one is hard as heck! I remembered Vanek right away, but couldn't think of too many other options. Can't believe I forgot about Diaz, since VAN was involved in that one...

Ugh... couldn't think of a single undrafted Canuck and gave up and chose some random guy I remembered (Jason King) and answered incorrectly. This is where @kvladimir would have thrived. Killed it otherwise.

Flubbed the last one, thought for sure Roger Crozier played for LA, but a lot of goalies would have fit that square, so I guessed I mixed one up?

Oh right, forgot about yesterday's, I got interrupted with one square left... I did good I think?

Messed up on TOR/90's because I got Leif Rohlin mixed up with Lonny Bohonos, but at least I was able to use Rohlin somewhere else? :dunno:

Also made the unforgiveable mistake of forgetting that Hunter Shinkaruk never made the Habs' NHL lineup :banghead:

Devils+Kings would be my wheelhouse. I incorrectly guessed which end of the Steve Kelly for Bob Corkum 2001 deadline trade would be more obscure. Corkum scored a goal in the SCF while Kelly didn't do much for the Kings.

Detroit signed Troy Crowder to an offer sheet after he held his own in a couple fights against Bob Probert. Crowder injured his back and he never played much for the Wings as a result. He'd have a brief stint in LA.

Since it was a Group I offer sheet, there was no preordained draft pick compensation for Crowder. The two sides couldn't agree so it went before an arbitrator. Detroit offered Dave Barr and Randy McKay. Fresh off of being awarded Scott Stevens for Brendan Shanahan, Lou Lamoriello had the nerve to request Probert. The arbitrator sided with Detroit. But in the end, McKay was a useful depth forward on a couple Cup teams.

Pretty much sucked today. I tried Tom Draper for the bottom left square. Apparently he barely played 50 NHL games and had nowhere close to 50 wins. I didn't know much about him... just remembered the name from a hockey card or something.

Hated this one, ohhhhh boy... Whiffed on CGY/PHI by getting Danny Markov confused with Denis Gauthier, and on NSH/CGY with Matt Bartkowski, not sure why I thought he played for NSH...

My strategy for this nonsense was actually pretty good...

Right column: Good goal scorers who played very little time with the team (whiffed on Adam Oates though, forgot how much his goal scoring fell right off at the end )

Middle column: Good goal scorers who had just 1 season or so with the team

Left column: Most obscure big-time goal scorers I could think of for each team. Missed on PIT because I got the wrong Pronovost :banghead:

Ugh... Armstrong never scored 20 goals for PIT (highest total was 16). I tried to get cute. I know Andreychuk had 20 or more goals in a season where he played for COL, but it looks like a player must have scored at least 20 goals in a season with a certain team to count as an answer.

Ohhh man, nearly had this one down, but 1% on John Cullen?? And whiffed on Vinny Prospal for the TB playoff goals, which is weird, feels like he definitely got... *checks notes* ....... 4 goals in '03!!! :pullhair::pullhair:

Same here, almost had this, but messed up on Boris Valabik, forgetting he never played for BOS after the Wheeler trade! :speechles

Darn, for some reason I thought Stillman would be more obscure than Kevin Weekes. Carolina had a rash of injuries and lured Jack LaFontaine out of college in the middle of the season; Unfortunately for him, his only NHL start was getting lit up by New Jersey.

Prospal signed a frontloaded deal with Anaheim after Paul Kariya chose to sign with Colorado. After that season, Anaheim traded Prospal back to Tampa to replace Cory Stillman. Since the deal was frontloaded, Tampa got Prospal back at a slightly better deal than he had asked for when he left. That trade was one of the last ones before the lockout. Tampa likely assumed they were giving up a late 2005 2nd, but due to the snake draft it would be the 31st overall pick.

One of my nephew's best friends is Jason Marshall's kid. Grant Marshall had 6 goals in the Devils 2003 playoff run after having 0 goals in 60+ previous playoff games.

And then I had to channel Mac for the Flyers + 5 playoff goals square:

Eh, not bad considering the categories... Almost forgot about Gavey, and if I didn't think of him, all I had was Darby Hendrickson and Owen Nolan (5% and 7% respectively :help:)

"Ok, sweet, a solid 0 after 6 picks, but now I have to come up with 3 60+ point players? Ok, might be tough... how about Russ Courtnall for the Stars.... perfect! :thumbu:

Ah, you know who might be good for this for CGY? Otto-man, he was their 1C for a bit there, I think...
