Yes, that would be great?

Is Oesterle a player the Oilers could potentially lose in the expansion draft?

I think he's too far below the radar to be chosen. There will be more high profile dmen around the NHL that will seem to be better choices for Vegas.

That's good though because I think he's a solid depth dman for the Oilers who is hopefully going to be a good bottom pairing option (at a minimum) for this team going forward... especially with the almost certain loss of Davidson either through a trade or through the expansion draft.

Chia will make some sort of deal with Vegas and we won't lose Davidson.

Oesterle deserves a longer look. He was good to great last here and he was the best d man at moving the puck out of our zone today and his passes are quick. None of this Russel/Sekera ******** where they hold onto to the puck for an extra 10 seconds allowing the opponents to cover the potential forwards fleeing the zone which turns into a dumb bank off the wall hope play.

I could see him being a 5/6 guy who is a PP specialist , if our top four was good enough to cover for a player like that.

He's not particularly bad defensively, so I don't think any cover would be needed. The bigger issue would be space in the lineup, but I really like Oesterle.

Assuming Davidson is taken by LV and we don't sign Russell:

Klefbom-Larsson
Sekera-Benning
Nurse-Oesterle

Or something like that. Maybe Oesterle-Sekera, because I assume Sekera can play RD better than Oesterle.

Yeah he was fine - but we can't have Oesterle, Benning and Sekera all in the lineup at the same time - waaaaay to small. Might be showcasing ahead of trade deadline.

Completely disagree, because I wouldn't count Benning as small, despite his literal small size. He seems to be more than capable of taking on guys much bigger than him. It's sort of like prime Ference. Small? Definitely. But you could never tell on the ice. I see Benning as being a very similar player. So it would just be Sekera and Oesterle, and Sekera isn't particularly small. Just my opinion.

Edit: Lol why do we disagree on like everything? It's funny.
