So has anyone talked about why this new rule emerged this past week? In order for them to make such a rule, they usually have a reason.

I've been asking this the whole time.

I cannot believe people are still talking about this.

Anyway, obviously something was bothering Tim to the point he instituted the new rule that if you're late, you're sitting a game. That should be enough for a young team to understand how important it is for a professional to be on time.

He instituted the rule on Sunday, and unfortunately, due to misread text or other reason, Sam was late Tuesday morning. At this point, what choice do they have? Even if it's a guy who is always on time before, and even if it's an honest mistake, how would it look to let it slide less than two days after it was made clear that was the rule?

The player has moved on, the team has moved on, and we should all move on.

Move on!!! What?!? Nah...let's bloviate about how TM requires all his players to pass a dying child in the street without helping, kick puppies out of they way, or push old ladies down if any of that lame a-- sh-- gets in the way of being on time for the next meeting. Matter of fact, I think I saw TM himself run over a duck on the way to work once so he didn't miss a scouting session.

uh we did it to Zadorov. he was on the All-Star break, his flight got cancelled, he missed a practice, he was suspended. so should he and all other players have to be back 2 days before because there's always a chance a flight could get cancelled the day before? i'm gonna bet that the vast majority of people's return flights from vacation are on the day before they are due back to work.

Zadorov got suspended because he didn't go full Ivan Drago on the woman at the ticket counter. Russian don't get delayed, Russian wrestle tickets or hijack plane...TM's orders.

My memory isn't perfect re: Zadorov, but wasn't there a few instances with Zadorov prior to this? The vast majority of people would also get dinged for coming back a day late from vacation, no?

Then there's the difference of missing / being 5 minutes late.

I saw Reinhart's response to being suspended and thought he handled it like a professional. His words would lead me to believe that he's learned from his mistake and that he took responsibility for it. Sounds like he's already moved on and so should we.

I don't like Bylsma, but it didn't sound like he had much choice except to dress Sam anyway.
