Forward time. Maybe this poll will be closer.

Voted Koivu. Parise/Koivu has pretty much idential points per game and on ice usage. Both work their ass off every shift, play all situations, etc.

Koivu being a center and 55% at the dot tipped the scale ever slightly in his favor as Most Valuable Forward.

Had to vote Pominville with his consistency and offensive production on a team starved for offence.

Pominville. He was a rock when we needed one. When Parise, Koivu, Granlund, etc. all went down, he played the consistent hockey that the team needed him to play. Without that, we might be on the outside looking in.

Pominville. Top goal scorer and only top 6 forward to play all 82 games.

Tough call btw Parise and Pommer. Both did their offensive job pretty well.

But i go with Parise, better all around game.

Fair point. But on the other side Parise had one less goal and played 66 games. I know it's about what did happen, and not what 'could have' been. But even with the games he did miss he managed a good season. Zach adds more to the team that just scoring, dude is just relentless. Pommers although a good scorer, he tends to disappear from time to time, Parise always seems to affect the game in one way or another. Just my .02 , can't go wrong with either guy.

Pominville because he stayed healthy whole season and lead the points.

Koivu 2nd and Parise 3rd. About the same amount of points but center>winger.

1. Parise, 2. Koivu, 3. Pommer IMO. Extremely close, all were very valuable for us.

There's something to be said for Pominville being able to play the full season, but man, an 82 game Parise is likely sniffing around a 40 goal season, which would've put him top 5-7 in the league.

Parise gets it, ever so slightly.

Pominville and Parise were thisclose but I went with Pominville because he played the full season. Koivu third, though I was highly inclined to put Granlund third.

Parise for me. Pominville has been deadly with Granlund but Parise can be deadly all on his own. Don't get me wrong, Pom is still a great player, just like that Parise can forecheck, score, hit, whatever.

To me it's a pretty easy call for Parise. If Koivu had been playing the whole year like he is now and hadn't been injured it would've been a tougher choice. Poms is valuable as a scorer and passer, but is mediocre without the puck, and is knocked off the puck easily, especially in our own end. Parise is an elite fore checker and defensive player in general who is surprisingly strong on the puck given his stature.
