Kostsitsyn was considered a top 5 talent in 2003 and top 3-5 in Potentiel. He was also considered the "most nhl ready prospect" in the entire draft but the only reason he feel is because of health reasons.
KOSTSITSYN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Parise,Carter,Seabrook,O'Sullivan,
Dude we get your point that you feel he is a better prospect than these guys. Not everyone shares your opinion. It doesnt make you right and them wrong however. Most are being objective when they are posting thier opinions here.
Kostsitsyn has sparked plenty of debate and not everyone thinks he is going to be the player that some Hab fans and the Red Line Report make him out to be.
He has glaring weaknesses in his game and only time will tell if he will be a better player than the others.
But as of right now, it is foolish to suggest that he is >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> THAT much better than the players you listed because if that were the case he would have been drafted #1 overall without a doubt.
As it stands, Maffy (who seems to be the concensus choice for #1 in most of these lists) isn't even THAT much better than the players you listed.
If he IS indeed better (which is debateable) then it is marginal and not by such a huge margin as you seem to want it to be IMO.
And he was the "most NHL ready talent" according to whom? Kyle Woodlief?
Does that make it gospel? That is one man's opinion. I happen to disagree with that opinion (as I am certain, do a vast amount of people). If he was the most ready then he would have played in the RSL, or the NHL.
You are using one man's opinion (or an uninformed opinion) and stating it as a fact, which it is not.
You can think he is a great prospect and deserving of a higher draft ranking in this thread which is fine. But in doing so, at least try to be objective and not show such blatant bias.
The same reasons used to bolster and support your argument for Kos can be used by any number of players whom you claim Kos to be better than. His talents and abilities aren't unique to him alone, yet you use them as a barometer to strengthen an argument as if the same couldn't be said of the others.
Even the "NHL ready" line has been said about any number of guys in this draft.
Does that mean that each one of them was the MOST NHL ready as well (which would be impossible since the term "most" defines only a single entity)?
He is a unique and solid talent for certain. Yet he isnt so unique that the strengths he posseses cant be said about any number of quality players in this draft.
Try to be more objective in your analysis. There are others whom you have slighted which can have an equally empaling argument as to why they should have been selected higher in the draft. As of right now, all that has been proven is that Kos is easily a first round talent and that your analysis is quite biased.
