The last time the New York Rangers had 3 consecutive Original Six match-ups in the regular season, was January 2004.

The Rangers played Montreal and Boston (twice) between January 17th and January 20th, losing all 3 games.

The last time the Rangers played 3 different Original Six teams in a row, was December 2002, losing to the Bruins (8th of December), Blackhawks (11th of December) and Maple Leafs (14th of December)

It’s a rebuild.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Detroit the Rangers' worst historical Original Six™ matchup? I'm not sure, but it's certainly seemed that way since the late 80s/early 90s.

Edit: ZOMG wrong n008!11!

All Time head-to-head vs. Original 6

Montreal 193-238 0.311
Detroit 215-582 0.370 <--------
Toronto 228-275 0.377
Boston 251-289 0.392
Chicago 240-245 0.410

Note: I excluded any calculations for ties

Being under .500 in points percentage speaks volumes about this team's mostly shabby history.

To be fair, the Original 6 era was even more corrupt than the current NHL. I couldn't find a source to keep adjusting the over all records during different time intervals. Considering the territorial drafts and other similar practices, I'm surprised the Rangers actually didn't do worse let alone win 3 cups during that era.

The Red Wings will be on the wrong end of a back-to-back in this game.

Can anyone link the quote AV made about the 4th line? He said the only player that they're satisfied with what they're getting from is Glass.

So in AV's estimation Glass has been better than Paille(I agree there) AND Dom Moore.

Calling a Richards hat trick and a 5-4 Wings win. Rangers have a 4-3 lead with 4 minutes to go. Wings core with 3:44 to go in 3rd to tie game. Richards scores with 17 seconds to go to complete the hat rick and gives Detroit the win  .

That's the nightmare scenario. Don't let that happen boys. LGR!!

Hey, if I drink enough cough syrup and chase it with some kettle one I could probably see where AV is coming from.
