cliffs from wright

- big shows to fill with nill leaving, not trying to fill those shoes.
- learn from what they've done and bring some own philosophy etc.
- not trying to re-invent the wheel, excited about challenge.
- mantha has to be more consistent.
- wings take kids slowly, it's mantha's decision to change that in how consistent he will be
- sees lot of similar qualities as in rick nash (wright was with jackets before last summer)
- likes what he sees from sheahan, esp. reg. his checking and defensive abilities.
- feels his hockey sense and skills are underrated, sees some more offense in there.

from tucker

- feels like jurco is much more than one trick pony, reminds him of pf more than sniper at times
- game breaking ability
- needs to round out game a bit more, continue to pull it together, stronger away from the puck, be more effective in def. zone around the wall and get pucks into the neutral zone.
- learn little more in griffs about these things, thinks calder cup run and vets in that team helped him to develop, what he needs to do
- feels he has potential to play in top within a year or two.
- goal scorer but starting to use his team mates a lot better.
- could get spot next year from wings if he keeps this up.

- feels sproul has almost limitless potential
- thinks he's probably the best off. dman prospect in all of hockey
- one of the hardest and most accurate shots that he has seen live
- his team system for pp in juniors was ''give sproul the puck and get out of the way''
- great vision and playmaker, great skater
- jumps into rushes like 4th forward has seen him lead rushes at times, lol.
- thinks he improved in d zone last year
- needs to be coached defensively, must be better position wise
- doesn't think he has much physicality in him and doesn't have to
- can see him QB'ing wings pp in near future
- probably needs this and next year ahl
- chases the puck a little too much
- no need to rush him, sky's the limit

- likes ouellet's compete level
- strength is poise and confidence at both ends of the ice
- wings trust him big role in ahl, think he's up to it and that makes him better
- good leader
- needs to get stronger, and play away from the puck a bit
- host feels it could take couple of years in ahl
- could play in nhl now if he was told 'just play offense don't worry about defense' but feels wings have different role for him

- feels mrazek was great steal
- likes his athleticism, never give up on play-attitude, vision
- feels he is nhl-ready in back up role but it's better to play him more in ahl
- small knock is that goes down a bit early
- seems to improve every game
- no reason to rush him, could play another season down

that's pretty much it.

On Friday night I watched the Edmonton Oil Kings play the Prince George Cougars. The Oil Kings out shot the Cougars 42-34 and managed to lose 8-3 (Tristan Jarry was out so the EOK used their 2nd and 3rd sting goalies who let in some softies.)

Mcnulty logged a lot of minutes seeing first line PP, Pk and ES opportunities. He was on the ice for 4 goals for and finished a +3. His skating is fluid and he demonstrated a lot of poise on the break out. He is really effective with his stick and utilized quality gap control. Despite the lopsided score, PG didn't look very good as a whole, but this portrayed Mcnulty as a steadying force and an on ice leader. He clearly needs to bulk up, add strength and utilize his frame better but overall, he looked good and was the lone bright spot on the PG blue line. On this night, he was probably the best defence man on the ice.

Thanks for the summary. Just wondering though if it's online anywhere so someone could listen to it.

That's good to hear about McNulty as we don't hear much about him.

Sproul slapper and Pulkkinen's holy slapper would be a nice combo to injure all PK players from Atlantic division. Aldo Frk has a deadly shot power.

Pulkkinen's slap shot is so overrated

This will help so much. So, so, so, so, so, so much. Here's hoping he makes huge steps this and next year. The prospect of a XO - Sproul pairing has had me giddy for a while now.

It is clear the Wings need more RHS, especially on the bluelines. Too many times they waste time trying to control the puck and get better angles because there aren't any RHS on the blueline or on the PP. Sproul, Marchenko, Jensen, etc. should help that as well as Pulu, Jarnkrok, Ferraro, Callahan, etc. if they pan out. The PP would be much better with two RHS on each unit (one on the point and one down low in the Stamkos position).

russians won 3-2 in so.

He pushed the shootout to eight rounds or something, think the Russian goalie was the #1 star of the game. Interesting that after going unbeaten for what a decade the OHL has dropped 3 out of 4 in this series now, including the sweep this year against a less than ideal Russian lineup.
