Well, their season is finished after pooping the bed in March and early April. It looks like they hold the 15th overall pick.

They need upgrades at RD, goalie, and 2C.

What would some teams consider offering for this pick? What are some options to use this pick to fix the roster?

Think they could make a good splash with the pick and some of their higher end prospects.

Maybe go after Ullmark from Boston. Righty dman is a tough one to gauge who would be available in a trade. Center also maybe go for the free agent route Sean monahan on a 2 year deal.?

Bunch of RD heading to market. I wouldn't be averse to flipping a pick/prospect for negotiating rights to get them inked before the nonsense of July 1st. Obviously after the playoffs as some of them are still involved.

Probably not a 1st though. I think the 1st is going to be needed for a goalie or top 6 forward.

Can’t help you with 2c or RD

Unless of course zegras is a actually available

Caps might be open to trading Kuemper this offseason, he's got 3 more seasons left at a $5.25M cap hit. (10 team NTC as of June 1.)

If Detroit does acquire another starting goalie, what would they do with Husso for next season? He'd be a damn expensive backup.

Along the RD front, they also might be looking to trade one of Jensen, Trevor Van Riemsdyk, and/or Ethan Bear.

None of those guys would (probably) require your first round pick in exchange.

After Copp and Compher I would prefer Yzerman be banned from being allowed to sign any middle 6 Cs for a few years

They’re all decent players but all just kind of “meh”. Which unfortunately our team is really full of.

If anything we need to remove players like that from our roster to make room for some young guys who are knocking at the door

We need legitimate starters, or legitimate top pair D and/or a legitimate #2C

No more of these plug and play guys

Maatta (cap) + 1st for Jensen.

If you'd like to keep Maatta then feel free to remove him.

Mid first in a shallow draft is the plus, not the main piece, in a deal for Swayman.
Hence why the pick is in a "package" as stated. I'm assuming it would probably include, at least, Husso and Berggren to give Boston an easy 1-year backup plus a good prospect forward who doesn't seem to have a clear path on to Detroit's main roster. That and the pick should at least get the wheels going on negotiations. Probably wouldn't be the final deal.

Bruins don’t need or want a goalie coming back. Berggren doesn’t move the needle. These teams aren’t a good fit in a Swayman deal. The value that Detroit would add over an Ullmark return isn’t worth it. The guys that could make it worth it, Detroit wouldn’t move.

Rs should:
- sell high on Shesty, gamble Garand inherits w/help from Quick, Domingue
- move Trouba for cap

prices:
Trouba = retained down to 6.5 per for 2 yrs, a 2nd + a 3rd

Shesty is elite and only 1 yr remaining but at crazy bargain 5.x per.
w'o further retention, is a good down payment

Husso has negative value. Add in the only reason Boston o would trade Swayman is to allocate more money to holes in the rest of the roster. Getting Husso completely eliminates that

A 23yo non regular NHL player, a cap dump and a mid 1st doesn’t get the convo started for Swayman unfortunately
