I don't understand this trade at all...
why would you trade your best player
for almost nothing?

Well..i guess the Armada staff decided, to hell with it

There are so many teams going for it this year it is a crowded field of buyers. So if you can get some assets back for a 19 year old and retool for next year you may have a better shot at a championship.

This is fairly common in the CHL for players like Tourigny. The Armada likely think Tourigny will play pro next year, so this will effectively be his last year in the league. These type of players just don't command a crazy return unless they are a WJHC star type player.

It's likely that some of these picks will go back to Bathurst next year in exchange for a younger roster player, and there could be stipulations that the Armada receive additional assets in the event he is back in the Q as a 20 year old.
