1) All 41 home games
2) 70 goals
3) 100 assists

Not even Gretzky has done the first one. He did all 41 away games one year. He did 40 home games in a different year.

"Gretzky did it once" has to be the highest tier of impressiveness.

41. Mac's streak is very impressive, but streaks to me are somewhat less impressive historically.
For example, suppose (unlikely as it would be) player 1 gets a single point in 41 straight home games, certainly impressive consistency.
Player 2 gets points in *only* 35 out of 41 home games, but 62 overall, not greater? Easily greater but not a streak so nobody makes a thing out of it.

100. Incredible accomplishment especially considering the extremely select group that have managed it. It's almost like McDavid thought he didn't get enough recognition for his historical season last year and decided he needed to do something different? I expect he'll get 75 goals next year if he feels like it.

70. Goals > assists no matter how many dishes are primary or pretty. Like HRs and TDs, they are just the apex stat for an athlete in their respective sports.

McDavid has a very low goal output this year. He's going to score around ~30 goals.

100 assists has been hit 13x, and this would by far be the least goals to go with it. Even Orr hit 37 goals when he hit 102 assists, as a defenseman. Considering this is coming right after a 65 goal campaign by McDavid, it's also a bit less impressive because he is definitely giving up goals for assists. It's different from when Lemieux or Gretzky hit 100+ assists while also hitting 70-80+ goals.

For those reasons - I voted 70 goals first, 100 assists second. They're close, but slight edge to goals.

As to 41 home games - I have it last. Still very impressive and certainly a memorable streak - but to me what would be most significant about this is the output. Is he scoring 1 point per game or 3 point per game? Gretzky's streak of 51 games with a point everyone goes crazy over....to me the 51 games is cool, but it's the 153 points in those 51 games i care about. Obviously - MacKinnon is doing great with 77 points in 35 home games this year so the output is impressive too, but he's actually second to McDavid in ppg, so doesn't necessarily stand out that much.

Fun poll

I don’t know about the home game stat, quirky thing.

Fewer and greater players with 100 assist seasons than 70 game dittos.

100 Assists- the most rare therefore the most impressive
70 Goals- hasn't been done in a long time
41 point home streak- cool in a "quirky" sense but the least impressive

1. 100 assists
Reasoning- McDavid is actually pacing for 110 assists. Since Matty Boi gets pace benefit I think McDavid should too
2. 70 goals
3. 41 home game point streak

Mackinnon's home point streak snapped.

Matthews on pace for 67 goals

McDavid on pace for 110 assists

Looking like only one of these things might happen.

Matthews can definitely put up 11 in the Leafs final 10 though.

it's funny to see 70 goals still beating 100 assists in polls like this as McDavid is carrying freaking Zach Hyman to 60ish

Matthews isn't carrying anyone to even remotely close to 100 assists, even though he's playing on the same line as a really good playmaker in Mitch Marner

Yep shocked it's last here. I feel like players recently have come a lot closer to the other two.

Don’t care about the 41 home game streak. Just seems like some luck, albeit with a whole lot of skill. Better, far, far better seasons have happened though.

70 goals is easily more impressive than 100 assists.

For some reason I don’t care what the rarest feat is. I care which is actually hardest to do and takes the most talent.

You can't be serious for criticizing Gretzky here.

The league didn't have 41 home games during his prime.

Yes but key point is 11 of those 13 by 1 player, so it is very rare, and done by top 5 players of all time.

Not only that but Lemieux and Gretzky did it in the highest scoring Era too. McDavid is about to do that in a season where 0.75 less goals per game per team are scored.... It's is crazy

So with that being said, is the rarest thing not the hardest thing to do?

It's a real toss-up between the 70 goals and the 100 assists.

The only thing that kinda drags down the 100 assist milestone is that there is a very real possibility that 2 players do it this year.

It's pretty unlikely that Kucherov gets 15 assists in his next 7.5 games, but it's definitely not impossible.

100 assists I think has to be the top simply because of who has accomplished it. If you were in a group with only Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr, like how doesn't that mean you're the very best? Meanwhile the other group has Nicholls in it.
