No real reason to conclude that, NYR almost always sign UDFA college kids as their seasons end

This is, initially at least, depth for HFD. Reunanen is RFA, he might not stay, Robertson could be on his way out in a trade. This is not really a deal that at first will make sense but it's just another UDFA who MAY turn into something.

Love the UDFA signings. They are already further along in development and maturity. If you hit on one its a homerun and makes it sting less when you start trading draft picks while your window is open. On the flip side if he doesnt pan out as an NHLer, he supplements the Hartford lineup to keep it competitive down there. Its really a win-win
