I had a feeling they would get a good number on him. 4 years is just the right length. Puts him UFA with Zucc but not Stepan who is the year after. So they buy 2 (?) UFA years with a good cap hit. Well done by Jeff.

Now its up to Kreids to hold up his end of the bargain. He needs to be more consistent and needs to show he can be a leader and play a power game.

So where does this leave us with the Cap - a little over 7M free? Hayes left to resign.

This was a great signing for the Rangers given the 2 UFA years.

Kreider brought this on himself though because he had a weak contact year, but hopefully, he will really wants to show the world what he's worth, so this is great for the Rangers.
