THE RULES

WHO IS A PROSPECT: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/whatmakesaprospect

HOW TO RANK PROSPECTS: Based on their value in a hypothetical trade or waiver draft. This takes into consideration a prospect's ceiling, how close he's to making it, his health, work ethic, the whole deal. Imagine there was a prospect waiver draft and you could keep only one prospect. That guy is our #1 prospect. Then imagine we had one more waiver protection. That guy is our #2 prospect.

Voted for Hughes because he's a proven AHLer.

Add Michael Kantor because he has a real chance at the NHL, while others are ECHLers who are very long shot.

Noreau, add Kantor.

Going with Noreau for the fourth or fifth time in a row.

Yes, he was in the ECHL last year, but he performed very well. He's big and raw, and just finished his first pro season. Even so, he led Greenville's D in +/-, started putting up a few points towards the end of the season, and even led the entire team in +/- in the playoffs, while putting up 4A in 14GP. His next season with Hartford will be a big one for him, but I think he has John Erskine upside: nasty, crease-clearing, bottom-pair SOB. He has a legit chance to hit that, too, IMO.

Tommy Hughes is falling too low. He's a very solid, if unspectacular, defensive defenseman. He really needs to go up in this round.

Add Kantor.

voted for Fogarty. It was between him and Yogan. The only two on the list other than Nanne that have in my mind any chance of smelling the NHL.

Fogarty has two years as an upperclassman @ Notre Dame to prove he deserves an ELC.
