Any intel on Jack McBean? It was mentioned in between periods during the Oilers/Canadian game that he might wait till August and declare himself a free agent.
His father is former NHL player Andrew McBain.

Jack McBain at eliteprospects.com

having a productive Sr year for BC, played for Canada at Olympics

"Clearly, the Hockey Canada brain trust subscribed to the philosophy that inexperience can prove costly on the Olympic stage. And it turned out that Jack McBain — one of five college/junior-aged players on the Canadian roster — committed a costly turnover in a 2-0 loss to Sweden in the Olympic quarter-final.
With the game tied 0-0 midway through third period, McBain attempted a drop pass at his own blueline. An opportunistic Lucas Wallmark swooped in and ripped a shot that deflected off Eric O'Dell's stick to give Sweden a 1-0 lead."

- Rangers are usually at 45/50 after signing 2-3 UDFAs

- If your draftees can't outperform UDFAs, you stick with the UDFAs

- Trade requests are already happening in Hartford the last few years
More development staff then. More hours. More rink rentals. More of everything. Zero more attributable revenue.

It's a business yo.

More donuts for Henriksson, though he did get a SOG! In his last 6 games he has played about 30 minutes in total, after playing 1:43 today.

Most of the college FAs never amount to more than AHL players as we’ve seen lately, but it’s still a good strategy to supplement your farm system in the hope they pan out. Even though a guy like Khodorenko or Richards hasn’t done much, those were still good moves to see if they could find a way to become useful depth players

could Othmann play professionally overseas ?

I had thought of that, him returning to Swiss league again, where he played during Covid last season,
but recently here, someone, maybe @AmazingKreiderman, left a post which said that,
per the OHL contract terms, OHL team would have to terminate the OHL deal before Othmann could play there

in Auston Matthews pre-draft season, he had no such restrictions, coming out of NTDP, so he could go play Swiss

speaking of UDFAs, Brodzinski has UDFA brother, playing a 5th productive season at St.Cloud (C0vid added a year of eligibility)

Easton Brodzinski at eliteprospects.com

will be 26 by training camp, but strong hockey roots, (Dad and all 4 of the brothers play(ed) NCAA in MN
maybe a candidate for post-NCAA AHL deal? a la Giutarri/Whelan/Sanchez/OLeary/Berzolla

Pack recently gave a brief PTO to another pro brother, the only D-Man among the 5 Brodzinski's

the youngest is Flyers' pick, a Jr w Gophers
