Our 5th rounders prevailed this time with Richard Nejezchleb taking the #22 spot and D Daniel Walcott being added to the poll.

Please write who you want added to the poll, and give a reason for it. This makes the discussion here more lively.

THE RULES

WHO IS A PROSPECT: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/whatmakesaprospect

HOW TO RANK PROSPECTS: Based on their value in a hypothetical trade or waiver draft. This takes into consideration a prospect's ceiling, how close he's to making it, his health, work ethic, the whole deal. Imagine there was a prospect waiver draft and you could keep only one prospect. That guy is our #1 prospect. Then imagine we had one more waiver protection. That guy is our #2 prospect.

Definitely Skapski this time around. He's probably a bit low by now.

Add Noreau. Big defensemen take the longest to develop and he's the biggest and the meanest one we have. The fact that he has enough speed and skill to stick in the ECHL at the age of 20, instead of being sent down for an overager season, is a real accomplishment for a player of his style. People view the ECHL as crap, and often it is, but it's superior to the juniors and a large percentage of 20 year old huge defensemen go back to the juniors because they can't hack it in the ECHL. Noreau is underrated on this forum.

By the way, this is Nej lifting 205 pounds. If it's a single rep, it's not bad, but not phenomenal. Above average. If he can do a full set (8-12) reps of this, he's a strong kid.

Skapski... add Nicholls. Guy has talent. This is the year for him to put up or shut up though. Needs to make Hartford and score.

Yogan should be getting some love by now. He had a solid rookie season with .5 points per game in the AHL, but ran into a sophomore slump. Still he was dominant in the ECHL, even in the playoffs when a lot of AHLers were in the ECHL, and all the crappy teams were out.

Yogan is big, a good skater and has a hard shot. He's kind of the Kreider of the AHL, complete with Kreider's early struggles. He will never be as good, but he has a legitimate chance to play in the NHL.

A lot of people were high on him when I wasn't. But now he's underrated. He never had the high ceiling potential people gave him (because they thought a point per game in juniors is a lot), but a big fast player will get his chance to play in the NHL.
