They're blaming the decline of the team on him when in reality, he didn't have a whole lot to do with it.

Several Rangers declined, left or outright retired like in the case of Prince Fielder. How is that his fault?

Things went south real quick after that comeback year they had.

Pretty impressive they've had only two managers in 12 years. If I'm not mistaken, every team but SF has replaced their manager at least once in that span. Probably twice.

Seems like odd timing considering the season ends next week. Still if he did something wrong he should be let go most definitely.

Here are your 8 spring training invite starting pitchers recovering from injury or 43 years old... good luck.

A's have only had two managers since 2007. pretty impressive considering 8 of those seasons were non-playoff seasons

only 4 managers in the past 20 years

It's also a problem when I confuse Bob Geren with Bob Melvin constantly.

they're pretty hard to confuse if you're an A's fan

one is a competent and talented manager and the other had no business managing at the big league level. pretty simple

It goes farther than that- Since Tony LaRussa became A's manager on 7/7/1986, they've had 5 managers in 30+ years:

LaRussa, then Art Howe followed him (Surprisingly longer tenure than I thought, was there when McGwire had a 52 HR year in 1996), then Macha's 4 years of good records, and the two Bobs (Geren/Melvin)
