Hartford getting Carp, Les and the dude they got for Krav, guessing they just wanted some open spots.

Rueschhoff at times looked like he could be a player on Hartford, but didn't ever get consistent time, and eventually seemed to stagnate. I believe he's RFA and was unlikely to get an offer.

this is how u regroup value after trading draft picks for rentals...
You're right. Honestly even if you get a seventh, that's a seventh for a guy who you signed as a UDFA a few years ago and who was going on 26. And a seventh, for all intents and purposes, is not much different than a fourth, for example.

He got hot for a short period of time with Hartford last year. He wasn't playing much this year particularly lately. Not sure what the Preds see in him but even if he's big Tanner Jeannot he's not.

They aren’t getting anything back when you use that wording, it’s like when the Rangers traded Marc Staal.

Were we up against a cap of contracts signed?
Nope.
And Bern commented elsewhere he sensed this freed cap, but not sure that's true
(ADDED I checked CF to confirm, yes he has a 2-way contract)

Reusch hadn't shown a lot, is already 25, Pack got lots of Fs suddenly
but i had imaginings they'd move him for need, such as age 25 RD Newpower

They are basically selling off their team at this point so they just need AHL bodies. This was likely done as a favor to him to get him on to a team where he can play. No reason not to take a flyer on him from the Preds side when you need bodies, anyway.

For once, just ONCE, I'd like to see them make a trade for Past Considerations.

One could argue we did that with Kane and Tarasenko. 🥸
