Since everyone says Seattle fans don’t know hockey, is this much whining when you’re losing normal????
I'm a fan of one of the Original 6 teams. And yes, yes it is. It's the other side of the coin that is passion. Passionate fans tend to be shortsighted and complain when things go wrong..

I popped three stress balls. That last few minutes I had the first two numbers of 911 already punched into my phone.
LOL. I feel that! Welcome to playoff hockey. You'll be here again if the performance in this series is any indication. The Kraken aren't going anywhere and their window is only just opening now. Would not be surprised if Seattle gets its second Cup sometime in the next 5 years.

MacKinnon crying about not getting a call, on what was clear incidental contact with two guys battling for the puck effectively cost his team the game. And that is just downright glorious! There will be an Avalanche in Colorado tonight.. OF TEARS
This Blues fan is on your bandwagon. Finish these clowns in your building and and make that building shake Marshawn Lynch style!
You are exactly right. Mac is one of my fave players, but that was some stupid primadonna bullshit and his slow exit cost the Avs a goal in the most delicious way..

Good stuff by the guys and now we're up 3-2.

The goals we gave up weren't good but we got it done and can even close out the series at home.

Gotta expect a huge push by them in game six but as long as the guys are doing their thing we'll should have a chance.

Anyways, let's cue that happy song.

I noticed Daniel Sprong only played 4:27 at even strength. Was he injured at some point or does Hakstol just not trust in him?

This seems to be a common theme with Sprong wherever he goes. Dude is an amazing talent creating offense mostly shooting but somehow eventually loses ice time. Not sure what the deal is.

Sprong is one dimensional. Sort of a PP specialist, who can steal some 5-on-5 minutes against another team's AHL/NHL tweener lines. He's the last guy you want out there defensively against MacKinnon and Rantanen. Sprong was where he needed to be on the bench.

PS: Donato and Kartye didn't see a ton of ice time either. And down the stretch the bench was shortened to two lines. The Yanni line and the Wennberg line with Tanev subbing in for Geekie. Those are our best defensive forwards, so that's good coaching.

How did we get here?

Well, the obvious is that the players are just making plays. That will always be a given. But I think if we take a deeper look, outside of two flukey-esque goals by Colorado, yesterday's game was a ridiculous defensive performance by the Kraken. I bet the Avs didn't even get a handful of A opportunities. The Kraken defense has just tightened up so well and it is showing with how they're controlling the game. I place this squarely on Hakstol and the rest of the staff. Whatever changes they've implemented, from the defensive scheming to the face-off strategies, it is working perfectly. They are making high level modifications to their system and the team is responding. This feels like a team who is playing so hard for each other and believe in the system. This system didn't really showcase much throughout the season, although there were glimpses of how well they could play...but now, we're starting to see good things come to fruition with smart, hard play and genius-level coaching mods.

I love this team! So easy to pull for them.

Well, it was one of the birthplaces of hockey in a Pacific league. A cold weather State next to Canada. Not far from Alaska.
Seems to have taken off from where it left.

This is not the first time Seattle has been on the international stage rom a hocket standpoint. They dominated the short-lived PCHA which was a serious enough league to compete for the Stanley Cup with the NHL. The Metropolitans actually held Lord Stanley about 100 years ago.

The fanbase is young but they're learning. It won't take long for them to get back into the swing of things the way their great granparents were.

That's what I would have thought as someone who never had a chance to watch them until these playoffs....but after watching all of games 3, 4, and 5, I'm not surprised by how the series has gone.

The Kraken are that good....and unlike "some" teams (that's a friendly shot at the Oilers) their organization understands defense wins Stanley Cups.

And for the shortened version....

How did the Kraken get here?

They earned it!
