I don't mind it as long as the questions actually are met with intelligent responses...and the questions themselves perhaps provide insight into the current market.

I'm hesitant to think it's anything but lip service. I'd rather hear nothing than hear, paraphrased, "It's hard to make moves, trading is hard. " It's his job to make it work, and talking to the media during a prime date to be working seems like a fool's errand. Even if he doesn't get a deal done, we can at least pretend he was working the night before.

Just my two cents.

Unless he's announcing a trade (maybe Vrbata is joining the team when he gets in? not advocating the trade, just saying why address the media now?), this conversation/press conference could easily be had tomorrow.
