I often hear of players deciding not to enter the draft. I'm guessing that means that to be eligible for the draft, you must be 18 and deceided to opt in right?

My questions is: Can a player decide to never opt in and just become a free agent when he reaches 20?

That might be a solution for a player with great talent that wants to decide where he'd like to play...

Anyone with an answer???

Only 18 year olds must opt-in (i.e. players who turn 18 on or before Sept 15th of the draft year). All older players are automatically considered eligible.
