is not only those 3 teams most of the teams in the Q have their attendance go down in the last couple years

Weather is also an issue. Saint John's attendance has gone down over the last two winters due to snow.

Q has to cut minimum 4 teams
play level is too diluted and way to much travel
there is less and less appeal for the league by young prospects

there is much less travel if you compare one of the option which is available and appealing to prospects:

going the New England prep > varsity > jrA > NCAA (ECAC + Hockey East) route
most within 4 hours drive max from each other

Moncton's attendance is down after dropping the ball with this year's scheduling. We've been season tickets holders for twenty seasons and have only made it to two games... Not impressed to say the least and will not be renewing. I've heard the same from several others as well.
