It's just of a matter of time the OHL does the same:
QMJHL cancels remainder of 2019-20
The league also provided clarification on how they sorted out the final regular season general standings, as outlined in their league rules:
• The Commissioner shall determine the general standings of the teams by using the points percentage if all teams have not played the same number of games at the time of the event
• The order of selections for the QMJHL Entry Draft shall then be made according to the reverse order of the teams in the general standings; the team ranked last choosing first and so on, up to the first team, and
• Should two or more teams be tied at the same rank, the team rankings will be conducted according to the tie-breaking procedure set forth in article 1.2.2 of R-12 Regulation (The Game: Rules and Procedures).
The league’s season was originally slated to conclude on March 21.

More or less the other two CHL leagues will shortly be behind them just a matter of time before the leagues and governors will be forced make the decision to shutdown the CHL entirely. Until the world finally finds a way straighten the current situation out any sports venue or event will sit in limbo for the foreseeable future. Just a matter of time before the announcements across the board.

Devastating, but the right call nonetheless, as it was made based on the information provided and the highly educated opinions of medical and infection control experts, and not those who make money off the league. The OHL and WHL are next. Realizing I've probably seen Quinton Byfield play in a Wolves jersey for the last time is incredibly sad.

Really sucks for the teams that spent a ton on rentals.

Kudos to the QMJHL. Tough decision, but he right decision. Not sure what the OHL and WHL are waiting for?
