Prediction: MTL media will be pissed that the Habs didn't take Bolduc or L'Heureux in the second round.

Raty at 8? Bourgalt at 4? Edvinsson at 17?
Bourgault

I think Bourgault is the most complete center in the draft, fantastic in all three zones. He wasn’t given a ton of ice time to start the season. When he was given the opportunity, he started to dominate.

He started with limited ice time, 5 points in his first 13 games, and then exploded for 66 points in 50 games. If you use the pace he was scoring at in those last 50 games, guess how many QMJHL players have exceeded that pace in their “draft -1“ season in the last 10 years? The answer is 2. MacKinnon and Lafreniere.

He’s also grown an inch + 17 pounds since last season. If there was any concern I had with his game, it’s that he was a twig last season.

Raty

I think he’s a pretty solid all around player but I have concerns about his progression. He has been more physically mature than his draft peers but didn’t really progress his game much past season. I think he has one of the best shots in the draft and a ton of skill, but I’m concerned about he lacks top end skating and consistency. He needs to take a step forward, which he didn’t do last season with flat production.

Edvinsson

I love what I’ve seen from Edvinsson on the international stage. He’s a big fluid skater and can take the puck up the ice as well as any defender in the draft. I have some concerns about his defensive play. He gets caught out of position and ton and and tends to get burned by highly skilled players. I’d like to see him improve play in his own end and be more consistent.
