Q&A With Philadelphia Flyers Prospect Jesper Pettersson

Known as "The Pitbull" from his days in Sweden, Jesper Pettersson is making the transition to the North American style of play. He was chosen in the 7th round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers after going undrafted the previous two years. A virtual unknown, the tiny (yet bulky) defenseman is trying to carve a path to the NHL.

Here is my exclusive interview with the young Swede.

Thank you. Although Pettersson has had minor missteps this season, he's played very well for the Phantoms and has transitioned almost flawlessly from the European style of play. He's a nice pickup, especially for a 7th round pick.

When I covered him during developmental camp and rookie camp he was actually one of the players that really stuck out as a dman with great defensive potential on the 3rd pairing. I think when people see more of him play they'll enjoy his game.
