I was watching some highlights from the latest Oilers game and was surprised to see how gassed Puljujarvi looked. Just take a look at the goal he scored against Blue Jackets:
McDavid was doing most of the heavy lifting on that play but Puljujarvi looked like he was running on fumes. Most times I've seen Puljujarvi he's been smiling and looking like he's full of energy but here he looked like a completely different player. It was like Puljujarvi had lost his smile. I wouldn't be so worried if this was game 79 for Puljujarvi but he's only played 14 games so far in the NHL this season. Does Puljujarvi have serious problems with his conditioning? Will he be able to hang with McDavid or should he be sent back to the AHL? Or is this just a case of being Finnish, as most Finnish players seem a bit slow and out of shape compared to most Canadians? I'm curious to see what Oilers fans and other's who follow the Pacific division more closely think of him. Does he have a serious problem with his conditioning or is he fit to play in the NHL even if he looked like 1998 Kurri during that play?
