Stopped reading after “Joe Venelo”

His last name is spelled wrong multiple times throughout the article so it is obviously not a typo, but a misinformed author. It’s Veleno. May not seem like a big error, but as an author you should take it seriously.

If you want to be taken seriously proofread your articles. No one will take you serious with blatant mistakes like that in your writing. Now I’m skeptical of reading anything else from lastwordonhockey. I never heard of them before until now; now I know why that is.

Good effort. Needs some fine tuning

Most of the content is fine - line combinations notwithstanding - but I'll second the need for a grammar check. It always helps to have a second set of eyes looking things over.

LastWordHockey is a source I put on the same level as hockeybuzz. Entertaining, but mostly speculative.

Proofreaders are a dying breed and to some extent editors. Spellcheck & Clippy barely suffice.

What about Mcilrath? Think he gets some looks this year? If there are any injuries?

McIlrath probably will not play for the DRW, on the other hand, the trade for him was made to boost the Grifs. He was essential for the Calder Cup win his 1st year. He (like Lashoff) is a step slow for the NHL, but he is great in the AHL.

who do we have beside Cholo , Hronek and Mcisaac ?

LDRD
6'2Cholowski -98Hronek -976'0
6'1McIsaac -00Lindström -986'2
5'9Hicketts -96Regula -006'4
6'2Kotkansalo -98Saarijärvi -975'10
6'6Setkov -99Holway -966'4
6'2Malmström -98Barton -996'3
Fraser -996'2
Webb -996'4
[TBODY] [/TBODY]

If 2/6 from the left side and 3/8 guys from the right side pans out, and we have Dekeyser, that could be the TOP6 core somewhere at 2021-23.

Like, in the year of 2021:

McIsaac(21) - Hronek(23)
Cholowski(23) - Lindström(22)
DeKeyser(31) - Regula(21)
Jensen(31)

Jensen could hang as the 7th D etc. 2 vets and 5 kids.

Then some outside UFA or traded guy could bolster that core.

This would still be in the bottom half of defenses in the league, I mean McIsaac as #1? Woof.

I didn't rank who are 1st or 2nd defencemen. They are just in picking order.

Who knows if we trade Hronek in a package for Jacob Trouba to fix Jets cap problems and their extension problem with Michigan-native who wants back to States. Or trade for Faulk. Or sign Karlsson. Many things can happen in next 3-4 years. Some guy will regress and some guy will develop surprisingly well.

Only time will tell.
