If trading Kessel for two first rounders can happen, I don't see how the trade I orchestrated with Avim is that bad. : dunno:

He got DD and a capable D while I got a third line centre and future assets.

Oh well, sorry Avim.

Weber and DD aren't worth 2 1sts plus frolik. Just imagine that on trade board here, it's not realistic. Remove a first and I'd accept. DD is 79 in game and weber is 72.

I really had no choice there. I want you and the other co-commissioners to look at deals and ask if they are realistic. Including my own. There's a margin of deviation we'll let go, selling high or low but 2 1sts and frolik for those two won't happen.

I feel that this trade gives me a little bit of extra offense that I wanted to add. Ward may not be as good as Rinne, but I've always liked him more, and I'm sure he can put up some solid numbers with the Predators.

LL what could make the keith trade work?
I mean it's not as if i offered it to him, i actually had to think twice about it.

In a few years Hamonic will be like 85 overall, TT might bust.

If you really think it's at all close to your trade..

Ya i was about to say..
I don't understand why we are rejecting trades so much, I mean maybe if it's like two firsts for a mediocre prospect (the player is trying to give the other an advantage on purpose) i don't understand what's wrong if the other person is fine with it.

why rejected? He offered it to me.
hamonic>>TT
Keith>>Streit

Suppose someone offers me all their picks for Voynov. What am i supposed to say, like you, I'd accept it but it's not realistic in value. The goal is to make the game fair. For instance, if I allow any trade to go through all it takes it for 1 guy to help out a friend and game over for everyone else.

Hamonic is 79 and streit is 82. Keith is 90. I mean...let's be honest, that wouldn't happen, adding TT just makes it stranger.

If you were chicago would you ever think of making that deal? If you say yes, I know you're lying. It really is too much. Keith can command Hamonic++ on his own.

Look, I don't expect picture perfect deals but make it in the ballpark at least. Keith is rated 90, the highest d-man in the game is rated 91(I think). Let's call it what it is, this is too far off for me to accept.

Again, that is why there is more than one commissioner and 3 rejections are needed as opposed to 2 approvals. Hence, 99% of the time, it will get approved. If it doesn't, then it is that unfair.

Well what makes that fair? me adding a 2nd? I mean obviously he wanted the deal, he tried defending it. If I'm chicago, there are certain reasons why I'd do it. Firstly, cap space, 2nd of all, maybe he wants a more rounded defense as opposed to having two allstars.

Of course i wouldn't do it if i was chicago, but that's why I accepted. Right?

Your trade isn't even rejected yet, it takes 3 rejections, not 2.

The scale is favoured dramatically towards most deals being accepted.

I approve both pending trades. I don't really like the Keith one but it's not that crazy. And there's no question about the CAR-NSH trade.

There's always going to be winners in trades, and everything depends on needs, but the key here is to prevent teams from helping out other teams on purpose. None of these trades do that!

Looking to take any cap dumps. I won't give up much of value for them -- but I can take them. I'm well below the cap floor (I was when I acquired the team), but if worst comes to worst, I'll just offer an UFA $9M for 1-year.

I'm about $5M below the floor.

We need to work something out it is very unfair it leaves me with way too many holes by rejecting my trades...

If a 60 point center in Desharnais and a young d like weber aren't worth a has been like Frolik and a couple (late:sarcasm:) first , I don't know what to do.

____________

The Keith deal I understand was borderline but you have to realize that I'm not a big fan of Keith and my whole D is young
that's the point I like to develop my own players , who cares that Streit is 82 not my fault the game is weird.
I like Streit he can put up 40 pts just like Keith and plays a strong overall game and I get Hamonic a future stud.
Supported by a cast of Goligoski/De Haan/Y.Weber/N.Leddy it's quite a young core I have I'm not jealous of anyone.

Like Jack said in the other thread -- overalls don't mean jack ****. (pun intended - screw you Flyers!! :P)

Last year, players overalls were generated by the type of forward they were. I think Desharnais was an 83 in the final patch -- his stats probably didn't really go down. It's just that he's not weighted as a playmaker anymore but as a forward.

He has less intangibles (this early in his career), so his rating is down. If he was rated the old way he'd probably be an 84-85 this year. However his physical and defensive stats will be poor. His shooting and skating will probably be average. And his senses and puck skills will probably be high.

Not that I think the trade is fair or anything, but more than overall should be taken into account.

MY D now is

Goligoski-Keith | Streit - Hamonic
N.Leddy-De Haan | Goligoski - De Haan
Y.Weber-Oduya | Y.Weber - N.Leddy

I honestly would prefer Hamonic + Streit then just Keith....
It's like saying you wouldn't trade Keith for Enstrom and Bogosian...I know I would do it.

Lyrical --- Subban is headed to Dallas, not St.Louis.

I made a mistake in my initial post --- probably because I was gonna pick St.Louis originally lol ... Sorry and thanks!

Enstrom>Striet
Bogosian>Hamonic

Doesn't really matter though. A lot of people are making a big deal over nothing.

Essentially, this is the rule:

Whatever comes first, 2 approvals or 3 rejections. Your trade with Keith had 2 rejections and 1 approval. Just because you see a rejection doesn't mean you should be upset. The process will take care of itself. We have 6 active co-commissioners and in the end the trade was approved before it was rejected. I won't veto it, it's a team of commissioners and the vote has passed.;)
