I mean I get it...but some of these guys are fighting for spots and some for contracts, you would think they would want to make an impression any way possible, no?

You would, but for the most part it doesn't seem to happen. You still get one or two looking to make a physical mark, but it's rare. Be strong on pucks, be hard-nosed around the net, sure. But hits and fights, barely a factor. Either players don't think it will impress the coaches, don't want to break convention, or simply don't know how to play that way anymore.

That second penalty was an absolutely horrible call. I’m not putting that on him. He looked physical and attacked the puck every shift.

Sabres have a lot to look forward to, that's for sure. Game went about like an early pre-season game. Lohrei is going to be a good one. Very smooth in the o-zone. Lauko, Steen, and Beecher solid games.

On a given night, you can pretty much draw 4 names out of a hat among the next 8-10 guys to fill out the other 4 forward spots and you could get great results, mediocre results, or bad rexults
