1. This thread is for drafting, and trade announcements (after approval by league office) ONLY. PLEASE direct comments, criticism, etc. to the other thread.

2. Please make every effort to maintain 12 hours maximum time between picks; this guideline is flexible on weekdays, but will be strictly adhered to on weekends, in the interest of keeping the draft moving.

3. Once you have posted your pick, send a PM to the next participant. The 12-hour clock starts from the time stamp of the previous selection. Thus, if Edmonton posts their first-overall pick at 0900 hours, Boston has until 2100 hours to post the second-overall pick... but please don't take that long if you can help it :)

gudbranson_kingston_ab35844_450-r98980&is=Right+Side+Bar

The Columbus Blue Jackets are very pleased with their pick since Gudbranson was the player the wanted from the very beginning.
Gudbranson is the complete defenseman we were looking for. He will probably play a key role in our organization for years to come. He is not only a great player, but also a leader on and off the ice.

next GM is notified...

Trade announcement:

Colorado-Columbus.
John-Michael Liles has been traded for the 56th pick in the 2010 draft and Cody Goloubef.

This trade and the freeing of cash that comes with it, will give us the opportunity to go hard for one of Michalek, Martin and Hamhuis this summer.

Even though someone just took the player I really wanted, I was upset, but I knew we couldn't make a mistake and would be happy with Brandon, he is a two way D that we need and that helps us complete our roster.

Dallas has been notified

Dallas has been on the clock for 12 hours.

Because the 12-hour clock extended overnight on a weekday, Dallas has been granted a four-hour extension; the Stars have until 1230 hours Central Time to make a selection, or they will be awarded a consensus pick.

The Dallas GM has been sent a copy of this message.

Did I miss a trade somewhwere? How did Edmonton get the 14th pick overall?

Last I'd heard, Carolina had it through a trade with the Islanders, and I don't recall getting a PM from either Carolina or Edmonton RE: a trade of the pick.
