In a weird turn of events the NHL is transformed into a four team league. The teams are; Team Atlantic, Team Metropolitan, Team Central, and Team Pacific.

The rosters will be decided through a draft but beforehand the teams can choose to protect, in total, one goalie, one defenseman and one forward out of all the team rosters that today make up the division each team is named after.

Which three players would you choose for each division team?

Digging a Hole
McDavid, Doughty, Quick

HMs to Ekman-Larsson, Vlasic and Brodie. If the cap still exists, I might even favour their contracts over Doughty's.

I love Bergeron as much as the next guy but no way a 31 year old gets protected.

For this coming season my list would be

METRO (strong pool of goalies)

Crosby
Faulk
Lundqvist

ATLANTIC (toughest choice of the four)

Eichel
Hedman
Price

CENTRAL (worst goalie pool of the four)

Kane
Pietrangelo
Crawford

PACIFIC (easiest choice of the four)

McDavid
Doughty
Talbot

Based on these cores, my money is on the Central
