I seriously doubt it. Not this group’s pick, hasn’t really shown anything outside of 1 cool shootout goal at a dev camp.

This is looking like a Connor Hurley-tier bust. Fortunately, some hope left in that 2017 class with 6K, Laaksonen, and Bryson.

You can count the number of players drafted out of the Czech leagues by the Sabres since 2003 on two fingers. It’s only Rousek and Konecny.

Then there is Pekar who was drafted out of the USHL and I believe will become an NHL regular. Budik who won’t.

I’m not positive if that’s all the Czech-born players we’ve taken since 2003 or not, I think it is. Lots of Slovakian players, some who are technically Czech-born born (prior to 1993). I’m not counting them, they would never want to be noted as being anything but Slovakian.
